Fractures

We Can Fix It

Fractures are a significant portion of our practice and we have more experience in treating shoulder fractures than any other orthopedic team in Colorado. We have a particular interest and expertise in minimally invasive treatment of shoulder fractures. Because of this experience, we have published multiple studies and presented around the world on the latest techniques in treatment of shoulder fractures.

The most common fractures in our practice are clavicle (the collarbone) and the proximal humerus (the upper part of the arm bone). The majority of these can be treated conservatively with an arm sling, but some do require surgery. To provide the best chance of achieving normal function with limited pain, it is important to see a shoulder specialist with experience in shoulder fracture management to discuss the best treatment options. Additionally, it is important to see an orthopedic surgeon at the first sign of a traumatic injury. This can greatly improve your chance of making a fast, effective recovery.
