About Dr. Hatzidakis
Dr. Hatzidakis is an orthopedic surgeon with primary expertise in injuries of the shoulder. He is in his 19th year as partner at Western Orthopaedics in Denver, Colorado and was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.
Dr. Hatzidakis graduated with a BA degree from Grinnell College (Iowa) and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. After medical school, he completed his Orthopaedic Surgery training at the University of Nebraska and Creighton University combined residency program. He then pursued a unique American and European shoulder and elbow fellowships; spending one year with upper extremity specialists in San Francisco and then eight months at centers of excellence in England, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and France.
Dr. Hatzidakis specializes:
- arthroscopic (“scope”) surgery for athletic injuries
- minimally invasive rotator cuff repair
- instability repair
- fracture care
- shoulder replacement surgery
- reverse shoulder replacement
- complex revision/salvage surgery
He is active in teaching other surgeons complex shoulder techniques.
