The following graph shows functional outcomes in 60 patients who had a hemi shoulder replacement done between November 2003 and June 2013. Replacement of the ball only is performed in patients who have intact socket cartilage, a very smooth arthritic socket, or a socket that does not allow resurfacing due to bone loss. The average age in our population is 60 years old with 45% of the population females and 55% males.
Although each score measures change a little differently, the data shows that patients feel their shoulder is significantly improved from how it felt before surgery and continues to improve as patients work with their shoulder.
